  • This five weight rod is based on the Paine 101 taper giving a fast action well suited for roll casts and close in dry fly work and throws a tight loop when paired with a 406 DT-5-F Fly Line. The sweet medium to medium-fast action is well-suited for dry fly work, dry and dropper rigs, and terrestrials and for me, delivers a tight loop.

  • Reel seat butts and slide bands are enameled with fused powdered glass. Enameling insures ultimate protection from harsh elements like moisture and UV light. The subtle enamel beige through gold colors in this rod reflect a Brookie or Brownie's beautiful coloration. Each reel seat and slide band I make are then a unique interpretation of a fishy pattern; no two are alike.

  • This reel handle and winding check are hand-turned from Spalted Tamarind.

  • The rod grip is turned from stacked cork rings. This grip could easily be fitted with a layer of rattan to give a litle more weight to the rod.
